Near the Bere Bridge is the information pavilion, which also provides information about the nature reserve. The fire salamander bench is a real favorite\u2014people of all ages take souvenir photos here or post them right away. The \u201cTanzteich\u201d sinkhole is another place steeped in legend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amid goat caves, old gypsum caves, spoil heaps, quarries, and tunnels, as well as the ruins of the copper smelter, you\u2019ll hike right through a convergence of nature, geology, and history. At the top, the view opens up to one of the most impressive panoramas of Niedersachswerfe\u2019s local mountain, the M\u00fchlberg\u2014a contrast that makes the trail truly unique. Once you reach the top, a covered rest area along the trail offers a chance to take a break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also two protected archaeological sites along the trail:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • the Facius Trench, a hillfort<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • the stone cross at Regensborn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Both of these examples clearly show how deeply this trail is rooted in the region\u2019s cultural memory. The lookout on the southern slope of the M\u00fchlberg also offers a great view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
